Access Control
ANPR for access control is installed at private residences and industrial parks that require significant security coverage and monitoring of vehicular traffic. Whether in the government or private sector, numerous opportunities exist for improved security through the implementation of ANPR. The basic principle behind the technology is the ability to capture vehicle number plate data and immediately verify against known lists, to ensure the vehicle in question is authorised and not suspect or wanted.
Standard features of PIPS Technology’s ANPR system include:
- System operation with or without human intervention
- An open architecture for integration with a variety of 3rd party applications
- Immediate feedback on number plate hits against known vehicle lists
- Easily interfaced to Variable Message Signs and various physical control barriers
- A non-intrusive method of monitoring every vehicle, the location of the vehicle within the facility and the automated notification when a vehicle has entered a restricted zone or area
- A variety of methods for data transmission including modem, LAN, WAN and the internet
- Ability to monitor vehicle travel patterns over time to detect suspicious behaviour or verify the presence of suspect vehicles
- The ability to control access by verifying the number plate against an authorised list
